MAC Outstanding Faculty Award for Student Success

The Mid-American Conference (MAC) Outstanding Faculty Award for Student Success recognizes one full-time faculty member nominee from each MAC institution who has shown a dedication to student success. The MAC also honors one nominee who has gone above and beyond in their dedication to their students as the overall winner of the Outstanding Faculty Award for Student Success.

The award is open to any full-time faculty, both tenure-track and instructional, who are engaged with undergraduate or graduate students and demonstrate a commitment to student success and inclusion. The faculty member should also have appreciation for the MAC core values, including academic achievement, commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity, fiscal responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship and student-athlete well-being.

NIU is seeking applications for the 2023-24 award. Applications should include a 500-word statement from the nominee addressing the criteria, a current vita (limit three pages including the most relevant experience related to the award criteria) and three letters of support, with at least one being from a student and at least one from a dean, school director or department chair.

Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. Dec. 20 and can be submitted to provost@niu.edu. Information about previous award recipients is available here. Once all nominations are received, a committee will recommend the nominee to the NIU President for submission as the university’s nominee for the MAC award, which is due at the end of January.

Please share this opportunity with your chairs/faculty.
