The Department of Engineering Technology offers a variety of educational options that are focused on training students in a relevant, holistic way that is aligned with the needs of leading industries in the region. The program offers students a uniquely balanced curriculum that considers solid theoretical preparation coupled with hands-on learning to prepare real-world-ready graduates.

Today's rapidly changing world requires professionals who possess current knowledge and training on advanced equipment and applications used in today’s industry. Our engineering technology program is built around experiential learning to expand your understanding of applied engineering and your ability to find innovative solutions to contemporary engineering challenges. You'll also gain experience in advanced manufacturing techniques, automation, electronics, welding, CNC machining, 3D printing, safety, environmental health and other techniques highly sought after by industrial employers.

Our graduates span many facets of the industry, from manufacturing, engineering and electronic manufacturing to aviation and aerospace, life sciences, information technology and construction.

John Deere, Caterpillar, Inc., Collins Aerospace, Woodward, Inc., Molex and International Motors are the top employers of our department’s graduates.

Thanks to our partnerships with government and industry, you'll have opportunities to apply what you learn in the real world, which will prepare you for a successful career. Regional employers trust our program, and almost all graduates are employed within a year of graduation.

Every class that I went to, I could tell that there was a career path I could go down. Even if something wasn’t in my declared degree, I could see the great job prospects that came with it...The great diversity of coursework allows you to speak different languages across a variety of disciplines. That’s so important in business.
