Assessment Tools

The online assessment tools of Blackboard can be utilized to facilitate meaningful and memorable learning activities for students. There are a variety of assessments you can create with Blackboard, which include: assignments, tests/quizzes, discussion board, blogs, journals and wikis. These tools can be used for weekly assignments, semester long projects, collaborations, formative reflections, and everything in between.

There are many benefits to assessing your learners using Blackboard tools. Using online assessment tools means no paper, and no paper reduces costs for students and means less for you to carry. The Inline Annotated grading means you can grade written assignments without ever printing anything out, and still provide valuable detailed feedback in the margins. Students can receive feedback on assignments, tests, and other assessments quickly and from anywhere they can access the internet.

By using online assessment tools, you can also save time. The Interactive Rubrics tool allows you to grade quickly and easily, and helps students understand your requirements for the assessment. Quizzes and Tests are easy to administer to your students anytime/anywhere, and the objective questions are graded automatically. Blackboard tests allows for a variety of questions types, and allows your students to respond in ways you may not have thought of before. Students can answer an essay question with a video, a link to a website, or many other things you can think up.
