What is Navigate?
NIU is part of the Educational Advisory Board's Student Success Collaborative (SSC) membership which aims to improve student success, retention and graduation rates on college campuses.
Formally known as SSC Campus, the Navigate platform that links faculty, staff, and students in a coordinated care network designed to help schools proactively manage student success (Educational Advisory Board, 2018). Navigate provides NIU faculty and staff with an online platform that allows them to:
- Identify and prioritize students who could benefit from additional assistance.
- Initiate conversations with students who may be experiencing academic or personal challenges.
- Simplify student intervention through the use of campaigns .
- Issue alerts and progress reports to initiate proactive student outreach.
How It Works
The Navigate platform uses predictive analytics to alert staff if a student is veering off course for graduation in the desired major. The tool predicts a student's successful progress by making comparisons to the pace of students who have successfully graduated in the desired major over the past 10 years.

Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, employee ID, and role on campus. If you are an academic advisor, professor or student, you automatically gain access to Navigate once you have access to MyNIU and do not need to request access.
