FY2027 Benefit Choice

The State of Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) Benefit Choice period will extend from May 1, 2026 through June 1, 2026 with benefit elections effective July 1, 2026.

During the annual Benefit Choice Period, members may change health plans, add or drop dental or dependent coverage, make changes in life insurance coverage, and opt out or opt in to the group insurance program. 

What's New

  • Premium contribution increases for all Health and Dental plans.
  • Salary band changes for Health plan premiums.
  • Changes to Health plan designs.
  • Health plan availability by county is changing.
  • MCAP maximum contribution limit increasing to $3,400.
  • MCAP rollover amount increasing to $680.
  • DCAP maximum contribution limit is increasing to $7,500.
  • HSA employee contribution limits increasing by $83.33 for individual coverage and $166.66 for family coverage.
  • Enhancements to the MyBenefits web portal.
  • Launch of Health Advocate, a new service to help with health and well-being issues.
  • Enhancements to Be Well Illinois’ digital platform.
