All NIU faculty and staff have access to Microsoft for Education, a comprehensive service that provides email; calendars; Microsoft Office applications for both work and personal use; OneDrive for cloud storage; Skype for business for IM, audio, and video communication; plus much more. On August 11, 2016, student email migrated to Office 365 from Gmail. This means faculty, staff, and students can easily share files, work collaboratively on a single document, and communicate easily with one another. In this online workshop offered September 16, 2016, we explored a variety of Office 365 tools that can facilitate collaboration and engagement in our courses and discuss the impact virtual collaboration can have on teaching and learning.
