**NEW - ONLINE** Teaching Tuesday: Knowing Your Online Science Lab Options

Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM CT

Science laboratory activities and assignments are the testing grounds of scientific disciplines. While the content of each discipline may differ, the process of scientific inquiry and investigation remains the same. Although face-to-face lab setting may be the gold standard for conducting lab activities, the current environment requires a move to remote teaching to protect students and instructors, which has prompted science educators to reconsider how to conduct science labs. In this online workshop, our discussion will include an overview of the current state of online laboratory science, options that facilitate a continuation of face-to-face lab activities in an online environment, and a sequence of learning activities, including lectures, pre-lab lectures, provision of supplemental materials, and material options (kitchen kits, simulations, AR).
