Tips and Strategies for Implementing Successful Discussion Board Forums in Blackboard

The Blackboard Discussion Board continues to gain popularity as a tool supporting asynchronous collaboration in both blended and entirely online courses. During this online workshop offered 3/21/2012, tips and strategies for implementing successful Discussion Board Forums were discussed. Topics included the process of establishing guidelines and expectations for student participation, exploring different types of forums and their appropriate application in your course, using the Discussion Board as an assessment strategy by making forum postings gradable assignments, and the use of exemplars and rubrics.
