If you are unsure whether you qualify for resident tuition under the Board of Trustees residency regulations, contact the Office of Registration and Records at residency@niu.edu.
Per Board of Trustees residency regulations, the university shall determine the residency status of each student for the purpose of establishing whether the student should be assessed domestic (in-state and out-of-state) or international tuition. The decision for each student is based on the information submitted to the university at the time of application for admission.
