Commencement

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Response

Commencement ceremonies for spring and summer 2020 graduates, which were scheduled for the weekend of Aug. 7-8, have been postponed. No new date has been established at this time. We will update graduates on future decisions regarding these ceremonies on this page and via email.

Your status as an NIU graduate will not be affected by this delay. If you complete the requirements for a degree this spring or summer your transcript will show that you've earned a degree, and you'll receive your diploma in the mail four to six weeks after the end of your final semester as long as there are no holds on your account. A bursar hold will prevent your diploma from being sent.
