About the Commission

During the spring of 2016, a committee comprised of university faculty, staff and students proposed the formation of an advisory group to the president to advance interfaith cooperation on campus. As a result, the Presidential Commission on Interfaith Initiatives was formed.

The commission is composed of faculty, staff and student members and meets at 2 p.m. on the first Monday of each month. We welcome input and participation from anyone who is interested. Each year the commission sets goals to address various issues at NIU that impact the variety of belief systems practiced by members of the university community.
