Presidential Awards

Each year, members of the NIU community are presented with presidential awards in recognition of professional success and contributions to the university. The scope of the awards reflects the diverse interests and extraordinary talent at NIU.

The presidential awards include:

• Presidential commission awards: given by the commissions to recipients across campus for a range of accomplishments
• Presidential professorships: awarded to professors for excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, artistry and engagement
• Staff awards: given to supportive professional staff and operating staff members in recognition of a variety of achievements
