Office of the President

Federal Relations serves as the university's official liaison between the university and the federal government. We represent the university in its interactions with Congress, the White House and the executive branch agencies, advocating for policies that advance and protect the university’s mission in teaching, research and engagement. We work to ensure that the voice of the NIU community is heard on all federal matters that impact our mission.

The office is part of the Office of the President, working closely and collaboratively with administrative units across campus and Student Association, as well as with individual faculty, students and staff.
