Ghazi Malkawi, Ph.D.

Ghazi Malkawi holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from University of Illinois at Chicago. MSc in mechanical, material, and aerospace engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, and BSc in mechanical engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology. Malkawi has deep knowledge and expertise in the different fields of engineering and virtual product development such as CFD, FEA, CAD/CAM, Thermo/fluids, material science, vibrations, machine element design, kinematics, mechatronics and many more. Steve Larson, M.Sc.

Steve Larson completed his bachelor's degree in engineering at Southern Illinois University. While working in industry, he completed his Master of Science in mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Steve joined the NIU RVC faculty in 2017. He retired from Collins Aerospace in 2021. He continues to teach at NIU RVC and perform consulting engineering for Rockford-area companies. Contact him at slarson3@niu.edu.

Anthony Biermann, M.Sc.

Anthony Biermann earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Platteville. While working as an engineer full-time he went on to complete a master's degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He then earned a second master's degree in engineering at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Anthony joined the faculty as part of the NIU@RVC program and is still a practicing engineer in Rockford with over twenty years of experience and counting. Contact him at abiermann@niu.edu.
