Deep Bandyopadhyay, Ph.D.

Deep Bandyopadhyay comes from a family of engineers – his father, wife, father-in-law and brother-in-law are all employed in engineering. He holds a P.D. in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University.

Bandyopadhyay is the NPI technical lead at Progress Rail, a Caterpillar company. He has spent more than 10 years in new product and technology development, particularly natural gas and diesel combustion systems. He holds multiple patents and has more than 20 patents pending. Contact him at

Cezary Bojanowski, Ph.D.

Cezary Bojanowski earned his master' s degree in civil engineering at Warsaw University of Technology in Poland and completed his doctoral degree in civil engineering at Florida State University.

Since completing his Ph.D., Bojanowski has been working as a mechanical engineer at the Transportation Research and Analysis Computing Center (TRACC) at Argonne National Laboratory. His past research resulted in new crash and safety testing standards for paratransit buses in Florida; his current research focuses on performance and structural analysis of bridges and structural mechanics. Michael Feller

Michael Feller is a working engineer who completed both his bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering at NIU. His thesis work consisted of thermal studies of power generators at UTC Aerospace in Rockford.

Feller is employed as a mechanical engineer at Danfoss Drives in Loves Park, where he specializes in thermal and structural design of variable frequency motor drives. He holds multiple patents in thermal and component design. Contact him at

Linden Griesbach

After completing his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Linden Griesbach came to NIU to complete his master's degree in electrical engineering.

After working several years as a full-time engineer, Griesbach joined the faculty of Rock Valley College, where he taught for 30 years while continuing to take on freelance engineering work. Contact him at

Steve Larson

Steve Larson works as a mechanical engineer at UTC Aerospace Systems in Rockford. He has extensive knowledge of electronics packaging and a background in heat transfer, fluid flow, thermodynamics and structural mechanics. Email him at
