Please note: To be considered for an application fee waiver, submit an NIU application fee waiver form (PDF). You must either have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $0 on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) report, or be in a college access program at an Illinois public community college.
Once we receive your application and required documents, it usually takes us about two weeks to make an admission decision. Be sure to check the status of your application to see if anything is missing. Submit any missing items as soon as possible.
