Posters are an effective way to promote your event, program or service to NIU Huskies. Approved posters may be placed only on bulletin boards provided for that purpose in university buildings. For the purpose of this policy, a poster is any size printed piece tacked onto a campus bulletin board.
Looking for academic conference posters? These guidelines cover promotional posters displayed on campus bulletin boards. For research poster printing, see University Libraries poster printing services.
Departments and divisions promoting events, programs or services submit poster materials for brand review and the approval stamp.
Recognized student organizations follow a separate approval process through Student Affairs.
DeKalb County businesses promoting events of interest to students work through the director of Community Promotion.
Any poster featuring the NIU institutional logo or an NIU sub-brand must be submitted to the NIU Clearinghouse before printing, for brand compliance review and the poster approval stamp.
Leave room on your poster for the Clearinghouse to add this language in 8-point Gotham Book or Arial:
This publication is approved for distribution by the NIU Division of Enrollment Management, Marketing and Communications. Display through {last date to be displayed}. Clearinghouse No. {Clearinghouse #}.
