Planning and Building Your Course Structure and Content

In this video, we review effective strategies for planning and structuring course content including dividing course content into distinct time and/or topical units, best practices for the structure of each unit, and options for using Blackboard "Learning Modules," "Folders", and "Ultra Documents" to organize and display content.

Best Practice

If you plan to release your content over time (e.g., set modules to open on the first day of each week), then consider putting them in reverse chronological order. This puts the current module/folder at the top and makes it easier for students to access!

Also, keep titles short or place the most important information first, as longer titles are cut off when students access your course via a mobile device.
