Background

Mackenzie currently lives an hour Northwest of Chicago with her husband. Prior to her time at NIU, she worked with online graduate and undergraduate students in advising, career services, and program retention.

For leisure, Mackenzie enjoys cooking, working out, and enjoying the outdoors. She is an avid traveler and is always up for a new adventure. Her guilty pleasure is reality TV with a glass of Chardonnay, and her favorite movie is Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

Education

  • M.A., Higher Education Administration, Louisiana State University, 2023
  • B.S., Hospitality and Tourism Management, Purdue University, 2018

Success Tip

Mackenzie’s #1 tip for online students is to consistently note important dates in a dedicated calendar or planner. Being in an online environment can make it easy to overlook due dates and class schedules. Having a set place to write down these important items will help with staying organized, develop time management skills, and help integrate academic responsibilities with other commitments.
