Alumni and Careers

Graduates of the NIU School of Music are working professionally across the region, the country and the world in a wide variety of educational and community arts organizations. Alumni of the Music Education program are serving at all levels of public school, in higher education, and in their communities, as educators, administrators, conductors, performers, private teachers, accompanists, and leaders in the field. The Music Education program has an excellent job placement rate, and our graduates have a 100% pass rate on the both the state Music Content Exam and the Educator Teacher Performance Assessment in the Performing Arts. 

The NIU Music Education program has excellent job placement success, and we are proud to have alumni teaching at all levels and in all disciplines of Music Education in school and community contexts.
