Wind Conducting Symposium

Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024
Boutell Concert Hall, Music Building

Calling all conductors! Wind conductors from all levels of experience are welcome. The day will consist of 14 conductor sessions with our demonstration ensemble, the Air National Guard "Band of the Midwest," led by Lt. Col. Bryan Miller.

You can apply to be one of the 14 active conductors or register as an observer. The conductor application deadline is Feb. 1, 2024. Accepted conductors will be sent a registration link upon acceptance. Each conductor session includes feedback from our clinicians, Tom Bough and Jeremy Earnhart and is followed by a time for questions/comments with observers. The event also includes a presentation from Tom Bough entitled, "Turtleneck Conducting: Laban Movement Gestures in Any Ensemble." Bring your baton and learn to move in new ways!
