We invite you to apply to be part of the Undocumented Student Advisory Board (USAB). As a student board member, you'll have the opportunity to work with undocumented and mixed-status students and allies who support our work. Our goal is to improve educational outcomes for all students, regardless of immigration status.
Student board members commit to serving for one academic year and are expected to attend one meeting a month. They also make recommendations about our office's programming initiatives.
Spaces are limited. If you're interested in serving on the USAB, please fill out the interest form by March 11, 2022.
Philanthropic Student Organizations
These student groups help to raise funds for undocumented students and/or support undocumented friendly initiatives:
DREAM Action NIU is a student-led organization recognized by the Student Association. We aim to increase awareness about issues faced by undocumented students in the U.S. and here at NIU. Our members believe higher education is a fundamental right for all, regardless of citizenship status.
The Huskie Service Scholars (HSS) program is a way for incoming freshmen and transfer students to get involved with specific campus initiatives and local community service projects.
