About the Ethics and Compliance Office

The Board of Trustees and President Lisa Freeman called for a university-level compliance program in 2018. As a result, the Ethics and Compliance Office (ECO), reporting directly to President Freeman, was established to coordinate the university’s compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, and university policies and procedures. The program is based on the national blueprint of what an effective compliance program should encompass, to include the establishment of written policies, assessing areas of risk, and implementing improvements to prevent future noncompliance.

The ECO inspires and supports a culture where doing the right thing is not just encouraged, it is expected. We empower every member of our community to make ethical decisions with confidence by providing clear guidance, open and honest dialogue, and trusted resources.
