Many happy couples have started their lives together with a wedding on NIU’s campus. Whether you’re planning a wedding, honoring a milestone event, or celebrating a special birthday like a quinceañera, you can find the perfect indoor or outdoor event space at NIU. Our experienced event planners and caterers will organize all the details to make your day unforgettable.

  • Altgeld Hall (DeKalb) – First opened in 1899, Altgeld Hall is steeped in tradition – and also fully renovated, inside and out for beautiful event spaces.
  • Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center (DeKalb) – Abundant natural light, a variety of room sizes and an adjoining patio and sculpture garden make the Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center perfect for a celebration.
  • Holmes Student Center (DeKalb) – In the heart of campus, with 30 meeting rooms, theaters and even a bowling center, the Holmes Student Center can accommodate a wide variety of events.
  • NIU Naperville Conference Center – Convenient and versatile, this modern conference center with stunning glass atrium, auditorium and ballroom is perfect for your celebration.
  • NIU Rockford Conference Center – This go-to location for local and regional meetings also hosts social events, with an on-site team to organize all the details.
  • Lorado Taft Field Campus – Our peaceful field campus on wooded acreage near Oregon, IL, provides the perfect setting for your casual event.

Tailgate and Show your Huskie Pride

Is there any college tradition more fun that tailgating before the big game? Join your fellow Huskie fans for a traditional tailgate on the east and west lawns outside of Huskie Stadium, and check out The Yard, which features free live music, food and drink for purchase, and inflatable games in the Kid’s Zone.

Casual Fun at the Huskie Den
