Career Counseling

NIU Career Services offers a variety of resources to help you succeed, including drop-in services, career counseling appointments, plus support for graduate students and alumni.

Drop-in Services

Throughout the school year, we offer drop-in services, where students can meet with career counselors to receive help with LinkedIn profiles, resumes, cover letters and more.

Stop by for a 15-minute, one-on-one session with a Career Services team member to get help with resumes, job search strategies, interview tips or career questions. Please bring supporting materials to help us facilitate your experience. You can bring a hard copy of documents, or we can review them on a laptop or tablet.

We are available to help you with:

  • Resumes, LinkedIn profiles, interview preparation and mock interviews using Quinncia
  • Finding meaningful experiences – Forage, internships, Huskies Get Hired, on-campus jobs, Steppingblocks
  • Quick career planning questions – networking, professional communication and job searches

This service is available to all current NIU students and alumni up to three years after graduation.
