In addition, we provide career advising to alumni and partner with faculty/staff to deliver career-related workshops to classes, student organizations and departments.
Appointments for Students
We offer several kinds of appointments to meet your needs:
Career check-up (a quick session for UNIV 101/102 students and those new to NIU)
Career Services welcomes the opportunity to partner with you for career-related course assignments and presentations to your class or student organization. Send your inquiry to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we may refer your request to the appropriate staff member.
Career Help Desk
The advisors at the career help desk can answer your quick questions about our services and events. They can also help you get started with career planning if you're not sure where to begin.
The career help desk is located in Career Services, 220 Campus Life Building. On days when fall or spring semester classes are in session, help desk hours are offered Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Services for Alumni
Online career advising services (through Microsoft Teams) are available for three years after your graduation from NIU. Email CareerServices@niu.edu for career assistance. Include your name, year of graduation and a brief summary of the kind of career assistance you need. All alumni have lifetime access to Huskies Get Hired and career fairs.
