Public and National Testing

We offer proctored/correspondence exams for external students or NIU students taking courses outside of NIU, as well as resources for national standardized testing to be completed at alternative testing facilities. Some standardized tests can be taken at NIU.

National Standardized Testing

National testing programs are standardized testing programs developed by independent test companies. Test scores from these programs are used primarily as admission criteria for undergraduate, graduate and professional school admissions. Students may take a national proficiency test before, during or after their enrollment at NIU.

Special testing accommodations for a person with a disability must be made directly with the testing company.

Proctored/Correspondence Exams

Proctored/correspondence exams are for people taking courses at other colleges or universities who need to complete some testing or for people who are completing professional certifications required by their employer.
