Sabbatical Application and Review Using Interfolio
Northern Illinois University has begun a phased implementation of the Interfolio Review, Promotion and Tenure (RPT) system for managing promotion and tenure processes beginning in the 2025-2026 cycle as well as sabbatical processes for 2026-2027. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the support we provide to faculty, department chairs and deans during the promotion and tenure process.

Candidates
Candidates include those faculty and SPS who are applying for sabbatical.
Committee Members
Members of a department, school, college or university Faculty Senate Personnel Committee who are responsible for reviewing a candidate's sabbatical case.
Committee Managers
Department chairs, school directors, deans and administrative staff who are responsible for completing internal requirements on a candidate's sabbatical case.
Case Managers
Administrative staff who are responsible for moving a sabbatical case either backward or forward after a committee has finished reviewing.
Sabbatical Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
These are structured evaluation forms completed by reviewers at each stage (department, college, Faculty Senate and Board levels) to record recommendations and rankings.
Internal sections are areas within Interfolio where committees upload evaluation materials, recommendations and supporting documentation during the review process.
You can include a link to a YouTube or Vimeo video file using the upload options in Interfolio. You can also include in an uploaded document a clickable link to an audio or video file that is stored in another location, such as SharePoint.
