Attach a statement of your research and scholarly activities explaining the overall focus and direction of your published work and/or of your engaged research and scholarship. Explain your current work in progress. This statement should be understandable to colleagues outside your discipline.
Attach a list of your scholarly products. List full bibliographic information; indicate whether the work was invited or refereed; provide explicit information as to the status as accepted for publication, give the date of the acceptance letter of the work if accepted but not published.
List in the following order, with each genre arranged in reverse chronological order:
Include all applications with dates (with most recent first) and relevant details (title/purpose, granting agency, amount, start and end dates, role (PI, co-PI, co-investigator). Clearly indicate which applications were awarded.
Provide evidence of the impact of your scholarly activities and accomplishments:
Provide a statement regarding your teaching activities and teaching-related engagement activities that offers context for the evidence you are providing. The statement should offer your own assessment of your teaching-related activities by addressing your teaching roles and responsibilities; your personal teaching strategies and goals; your efforts to evaluate and improve your own teaching; and your use of best practices as appropriate to your discipline.
Provide a list of the courses you taught each semester during the last 3 years. Use the table found at the following link: go.niu.edu/summary-of-courses. Limit two pages. Additional information can be included with supplemental files.
List names of students, thesis or dissertation, titles of works, degree sought, and semester/year directed, and service on thesis and dissertation committees.
List advising and mentoring activities, if any, and provide relevant details.
Provide evidence of indicators of student learning that may include but not limited to:
Provide evidence of steps you have taken to evaluate and improve teaching (including advising) such as changes in course content and/or teaching methods; development of new courses or redevelopment of existing courses; new course projects, materials, and class assignments; attendance at meetings and/or workshops to improve instruction; and efforts to further university teaching priorities.
Optional: provide a summary of other information relevant to your teaching and learning: grants received for the improvement of teaching, teaching awards or other recognitions from students and/or colleagues. Limit two pages.
Attach a summary of your service contributions to the university:
Provide a summary of your professionally-oriented public service. Include activities with dates and relevant details, e.g., courses, workshops, seminars, exhibits, community outreach projects, and other academically oriented instructional experiences that utilized your professional expertise; grants received to support engagement projects recognized as service in your discipline; community engagement, public addresses, television appearances, testimony before governmental agencies, consultantships, publications for lay audiences, assistance to community groups, etc.
Optional: provide a summary of other achievements: service awards and recognition, offices in professional societies, service to granting agencies, editorship of professional journals, scholarly refereeing, honors and awards received, etc., with dates and relevant details.
Attach reference/supporting materials that substantiate the case.
