Council of Research Services

The Council of Research Services (CoRS) advances the institutional infrastructure that supports research, scholarship, and artistry at NIU. It serves as a collaborative forum for strategic thinking and shared dialogue around needs, opportunities, processes, procedures, policies, logistics, and internal and external changes that impact the research ecosystem and enterprise.

Chaired by the associate vice presidents for research, the council meets monthly to provide informed guidance on matters that enhance the university’s research ecosystem and enterprise. CoRS is committed to fostering transparency, strengthening communication between Research and Innovation Partnerships (RIPS) and campus stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement in support of faculty, staff and student success in research, scholarly and creative endeavors. Through its work, the council champions infrastructure, innovation and efficiency, ensuring that members of the university community are empowered to thrive in these endeavors.
