Blackboard offers a Piazza integration that makes it possible to set up a Piazza site within your course site. The integration will set up an account for you and your students in Piazza as a one-time process, then log you into Piazza automatically on return uses. The integration will also automatically enroll your students in your course in Piazza when they access it via Blackboard.
NOTE: Piazza is offered to the NIU community as an integration via Blackboard. Piazza is a free, non-NIU tool that is not currently supported by any department or center at NIU, and there are premium features that will not be available. Original Course View
- Login to Blackboard and visit the course site you want to add Piazza to.
- Navigate to a content area where you'd like to include a link to Piazza. Then click Tools button, then More Tools and select Piazza.
- Add a description and/or modify the title of the link to Piazza and click Submit.
- Click the link just added to your course to finish the setup in Piazza. Decide whether to create a new Piazza course site or link to a pre-existing Piazza site. (NOTE: if you have never created a Piazza site before or do not have a Piazza account, you'll also need to create a Piazza account on the next screen).
- Confirm the Piazza site creation and continue.
Ultra Course View
- Login to Blackboard and visit the course site you want to add Piazza to.
- Click the plus sign (+) wherever you would like the link to Piazza added.
- Click Content Market in the menu.
- Find Piazza in the list of available tools, then click the plus sign (+) in the corner to add a link to your course.
- Click the link just added to your course to finish the setup in Piazza. Decide whether to create a new Piazza course site or link to a pre-existing Piazza site. (NOTE: if you have never created a Piazza site before or do not have a Piazza account, you'll also need to create a Piazza account on the next screen).
- Confirm the Piazza site creation and continue.
