Rich Dahome serves as the associate director of competitive sports at Northern Illinois University Recreation, where he oversees the Intramural Sports and Sport Club programs. In this role, Rich works closely with student leaders and campus partners to provide inclusive, engaging recreational sport opportunities that enhance student life, foster leadership development and promote overall wellness across campus.
Rich brings a diverse background in recreation management, youth athletics and community programming. Prior to joining NIU, he worked in the park district system managing athletic leagues, tournaments and facility operations, helping expand community access to recreational programming. He has also worked within the school district setting, supporting student development and wellness initiatives through athletics and physical activity programming.
In addition to his professional work, Rich has been actively involved in community service and youth outreach, using sports and recreation as a way to mentor and positively impact young people. His work has included supporting youth programming initiatives and collaborating with schools and community organizations to provide opportunities for physical activity, leadership development and personal growth.
Rich earned his master's degree in sport management from Arkansas State University and his bachelor's degree in sport administration from Kent State University. He is passionate about the role recreation plays in building community and creating meaningful experiences that help students and young people thrive.
