Jason Schlieben

Jason has been in sports, recreation and fitness his entire life. As a youth he played in sports leagues with the Dekalb Park District and the Kishwaukee YMCA. That desire continued through high school, which led Jason to choosing a field of study that aligned with one of his strongest interests. He attended NIU during his freshman and sophomore years. He then transferred to WIU where he completed his bachelor's degree in recreation, park and tourism administration.

Jason has worked for several park districts in Northern Illinois as the superintendent of recreation which included oversight of fitness departments/centers. He also worked as the athletic director at the Kishwaukee YMCA. Recently, he was the fitness manager at Delnor Health & Fitness and then promoted to the center director at the Kishwaukee Health & Wellness Center.

He also obtained a Master of Science in sport, recreation and tourism from the University of Illinois. He is also a certified personal trainer as well as a certified IHSA football referee. Jason is proud of his professional journey and has gained an immense amount of experience and met many wonderful people. Most importantly, it has proved to be extremely rewarding to help others improve their quality of life every day. He feels fortunate to be working in his current role and is looking forward to having a positive impact on the athletic/recreation department.
