Summary:

The revisions to the Disability Resource Center Policy, now referred to as the Reasonable Accommodations for Students Policy, were made to align with best practices related to the separation of policy, procedures, and guidelines. The Disability Resource Center website was updated to include guidelines and procedures, that were previously included in the Policy.

Research Misconduct

Summary:

Federal regulations surrounding how the institution responds to allegations of research misconduct have been updated. Revisions to the Research Misconduct Policy have been made to reflect those updates. The revisions include the following:

  • New definition section, provided by ORI. Includes stating clearly that Self Plagarism is not research misconduct. Authorship disputes are not Plagarism.
  • Defines levels of intent, Intentionally, Knowingly, Recklessly.
  • The Research Integrity Officer may conduct the Inquiry.
  • PHS funded research Inquiry now have 90 day limit.
  • Specific sections to be included in an Inquiry report.
  • Investigation move to 180 days.
  • Investigation interviews must be transcribed and the interviewee will have an opportunity to correct the transcript.
  • Specific sections to be included in an Investigation report
