Choral Repertoire

The repertoire performed by NIU choral ensembles celebrates the rich diversity of music available in the contemporary choral world.

The program embraces a wide range of styles and voices from:

• The traditional canon of choral/orchestral masterworks such as Bach Mass in B Minor and Verdi’s Requiem
• Exciting and diverse traditions such as a recent celebration of spirituals with New Hope Baptist Church
• Performances in NIU’s World Music concerts of choral music from Korea, Indonesia and the Philippines
• An extended exploration of traditional music from Tanzania which culminated in a presentation for the Central Division Convention of the American Choral Director’s Association
