A native of the southside of Chicago, Eric holds an M.B.A. from Keller Graduate School of Management and a bachelor's in science and technical management (human resources concentration) from DeVry University. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1999-2003 and deployed into Afghanistan in Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001 and deployed to Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Eric has worked in higher education for 10 years in various capacities from admissions to the registrar, to academic advising and for the past four years, working with student veterans. He loves working with students and can be found interacting with students on a daily basis on campus. He enjoys watching almost any sport, but football is king. Eric has an open-door policy for all students who need to talk or exchange ideas that would help all students at NIU.
Jorie is originally from the south suburbs of Chicago. She and her family currently reside in central Illinois. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Calumet College of St. Joseph’s in education and a master’s degree from NIU in higher education and student affairs. Jorie’s professional background includes six years at a community college as a financial aid manager and school certifying official for the veteran’s department, a bank manager. She has worked in the financial aid department and has been an academic advisor at NIU. Most recently Jorie came to MVS from Student Financial Advising Services at NIU. Jorie enjoys working with students and helping them become their best selves. She is a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and enjoys watching as many games as she can from spring training to the World Series. Jorie also enjoys watching her kids take part in their sports activities and is an avid crocheter. Jorie did not serve in the military, her father served in Vietnam and her grandfather served in World War II. Jorie looks forward to working with our veterans and military-connected students.
