Vicki Gerentes

A proud sorority woman, Vicki currently serves as the director of Fraternity and Sorority Life. In this role, Vicki will direct Fraternity and Sorority Life in the next phase of Greek Life Revitalization at NIU. Tasked with creating a strategic vision, she works with a talented team and campus partners to deliver educational programming and experiences for Fraternity and Sorority Life students. Vicki also serves as the primary advisor for National Pan-Hellenic Council and Panhellenic Council.

Affinity is what drives Vicki to advocate for the fraternal experience. Her goals are to create a space of possibility for developing leadership skills, a sense of belonging and positive contribution to the Huskie family. She values building relationships and believes in fostering a culture of care. In her free time, Vicki not only volunteers for her sorority as a recruitment specialist, but also serves as a facilitator and volunteer for other fraternal organizations.

Vicki earned a bachelor’s degree in English (Creative Writing) from Lake Forest College, where she became a lifelong member of Delta Gamma Fraternity, and a M.Ed. in Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago. She has previously advised fraternity and sorority life at both the Illinois Institute of Technology and San Jose State University,  and has gained experience working in alumni engagement at her alma mater. She brings both campus-based experience and headquarters-based knowledge after working for Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Triangle Fraternity.

A fun fact about Vicki is that she went to Greek School growing up and can speak, read and write in Greek!
