Additional and Subsequent Endorsements

Teacher leans over student in classroom to answer question.

Expand your education career by adding endorsements to your professional educator license (PEL) or educator license with stipulations. Endorsements identify the areas in which you're qualified to teach.

Adding Additional Endorsements to Your Initial License

By adding additional endorsements as you pursue your initial license, you can become authorized to teach multiple content areas to the same group of grade levels. You can accomplish this by meeting the content area requirements for those teaching endorsements. Work with your program advisor to make sure you meet the requirements.

Obtaining Subsequent Teaching Endorsements

After you hold a PEL, you can expand your career options and increase your earning potential by adding subsequent teaching endorsements. These are added with the grade range associated with each particular endorsement. To determine the coursework and content tests are required, please contact the advisor in the subject area you wish to add.
