  • Woodwind and brass, summer rehearsal, 1-5 p.m.

July 26 Saturday
  • Attend DCI Show in Dekalb (optional)
  • Huskie Stadium, 6-10 p.m.
July 27 Sunday Drumline and color guard rehearsal, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., NIU Campus
Aug. 14 Thursday Leadership team training and move-in (probable)
Aug. 15-22 Friday
  • All members Probable start to Band Camp
  • Move-in details and daily rehearsal schedule TBA
Aug. 22 Friday Band run, schedule TBA
Aug. 25 Monday
  • Semester starts.
  • Winds, brass and drumline meet at regular class time and location
  • Colorguard and dance are on separate schedules
Aug. 30 Saturday
  • Game day! NIU vs. Holy Cross
  • Schedule TBA
Sept. 1 Monday
  • NIU holiday for Labor Day
  • HMB winds and brass off
  • Colorguard in stadium at 6 p.m.
Sept. 20 Saturday
  • Red and Black Marching Band Competition
  • All-day commitment!
  • Family and friends: please volunteer to help run the event
  • Sign up link TBA, one week before the show
Sept. 27 Saturday
  • Game day! NIU vs. San Diego State.
  • High School Band Day
Oct. 2 Thursday
  • Homecoming parade and pep rally, downtown Dekalb
  • Full uniform
Oct. 4 Saturday
  • Game Day! NIU vs. Miami of Ohio
  • Homecoming
Oct. 25 Saturday Game Day! NIU vs. Ball State (when in fact, Ball is not a "state")
Oct. 26 Sunday
  • Sycamore Pumpkin Parade
  • Performing Thriller and Fight Song Call time 11:30 a.m. Full uniform
Nov. 18 Tuesday
  • Game Day! NIU vs. WMU
  • High school senior night
  • High school band guests are invited onto the field for pregame
  • Please register, link will be available in October
  • Rehearsal for the performance will take place two hours prior to kickoff, inside the Chessick Center
Nov. 21 Friday
  • HMB off
  • Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony, combined concert, Music Building
Nov. 26 Thanksgiving Break HMB off
Nov. 28 Friday
  • Game day! Senior night
  • Final home game
  • Mandatory performance
  • Schedule TBA
  • Historically, we have been able to provide free tickets to your family and friends, upon request.
  • Warm up will start 90 minutes prior to kickoff, inside the Chessick Center.
Dec. 1 Monday
  • Band Awards Ceremony
  • Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center. 8-9:30 p.m.
  • Dress to impress
  • Members only
Dec. 6 Saturday
  • MAC Championship in Detroit, MI.
  • If the team is fortunate enough to qualify, this will be a mandatory performance for the band
