This tutorial was developed and maintained by staff volunteers at the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning. The content and activities of this tutorial have been designed to be accessible to users with disabilities.

We do our best to correct any mistakes in the content or problems encountered in the use of the tutorial. But we cannot provide technical support to users or diagnose problems with their computers, internet connections or browsers.

If you notice an error or experience a problem using the tutorial, please report it to us after reviewing some common issues and solutions.

Common Issues and Solutions

If you encounter a problem viewing or printing the certificate after taking the quizzes, it is most likely related to opening the tutorial by clicking the link for it in another program (Blackboard, Word, etc.). Other issues may be caused by your computer’s settings or interference from other programs running on your computer.

Follow these tips, then try the tutorial again:

  • Do not open the tutorial by clicking a link for it through another program. Type the URL into your browser instead.
  • Make sure cookies are enabled.
  • Disable pop-up blockers.
  • Close other programs (Microsoft Office, Blackboard, chat, music, email, etc.) 

Report a Problem Using the Tutorial

Please email citl@niu.edu the following information with the subject line "Academic Integrity Tutorial Problem":

  • Name and version of browser used
  • Type of computer used
  • Date and time the problem was encountered
  • Description of the problem (attach a screenshot, if possible)
  • Contact information for follow up, if necessary: name, classification (faculty, staff or student), affiliation (department, major, etc.), email address or phone number

Report a Mistake in the Tutorial

If you find a mistake such as a grammatical error, please email citl@niu.edu the following information with the subject line "Academic Integrity Tutorial Mistake":

  • Date and time the mistake was encountered
  • Description and location (section, page name, etc.) of the mistake (attach a screenshot, if possible)
  • Contact information for follow up, if necessary: name, classification (faculty, staff or student), affiliation (department, major, etc.), email address or phone number
