The Visual Resource Center (VRC) in the School of Art and Design is a multifuction research source open to students enrolled in Art and Design courses. The VRC features:
- Undergraduate Art Computer Lab with Macintosh and Windows computers running Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office software
- Faculty/graduate student lab with Macintoshes running Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, content creation software for video editing and Xcode-based programming
- Self-help creation center
- 600+ DVD circulating library
- NIU Digital Image Library with over 40,000 art images from pre-historic to contemporary (call for login and password to the public).

Hours of Operation
Monday-Thursday: open to foundation classes and by appointment
Friday-Sunday: closed
