While your student may not be new to the college experience, they will be new to NIU. We understand that you may have questions about what's in store for your student, and we want you to feel comfortable supporting them as they start their life as a Huskie.
We invite you to learn about the Huskie experience with family orientation. Our online module will help you learn about our campus, the academic and support staff who will play a key role in your student’s success, and much more.
Here's what to know about family orientation:
Our online family orientation is called the Family Support and Resource Guide. This module was designed to introduce you to the Huskie experience and help answer questions you or your student may have.
Academic advising for your student takes place during their registered orientation day. They’ll attend the advising meeting on their own. Students will meet with an academic advisor, who will guide them in registering for classes.
