What to Know About Orientation
Our orientation program is required for all admitted students. It will help you discover what it means to be a Huskie. You'll connect to helpful resources, engage with departments essential to your success and more. You must register for an orientation date and complete some tasks in advance.
Your orientation experience will include:
Pre-orientation Program (POP): A self-guided online module you must complete before your orientation date. You'll receive information on POP after you register for an orientation date.
Informational sessions: Large group sessions will help to connect you with campus departments that will assist you in your transition to NIU. You’ll learn about services offered and how to make sure you have access to the supports that will help you be successful at NIU.
Advising appointment: A meeting with your advisor on your orientation date to prepare to register for classes. Post-Orientation Program (POP 2.0): A self-guided module that will help you learn more about how to get involved and engaged on campus to make the most of your time at NIU.
