Latino Graduation Celebration

Next Celebration: April 26, 2026

To honor all the achievements and efforts of our graduating students at Northern Illinois University, the Latino Resource Center proudly presents Latino Graduation Celebration. This celebration includes performances and remarks that celebrate the heritages and traditions rooted in Hispanic and Latino/a cultures and histories. All students and their guests are welcome.

This pre-commencement event recognizes graduates who have successfully completed an undergraduate and/or graduate degree. This ceremony is free to students and guests. If you wish to be recognized as a graduate, you must register by the deadline. General guests will need to register separately during the guest ticketing timeframe.

For questions, please contact Elbia Del Llano at edelllano1@niu.edu.

Ticketing and Guests

Because of limited capacity and to prioritize our graduates as well as their guests and family in their recognition celebration, there are specific timeframes for each type of ticket. All attendees will need to register online to reserve an e-ticket for the event; these are free of charge.

  • Graduating student registration - the first set of available tickets is reserved for our graduates and must be completed by the deadline to be recognized.
  • Graduate guest ticket - registered graduating students will receive a link to register their guests once availability is determined. The number of initial guest tickets available per graduate is determined after the close date for graduate registration and is based on the number of graduates to be recognized.
  • General admission ticket - after graduates and initial guest registration windows, any unclaimed tickets will be open for additional graduate guests and any non-graduating student, faculty, staff or community members. Availability while supplies last.
