Brian D. Shore returned to his hometown of Rockford, Illinois to practice law after graduating from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1983. His practice included family law, commercial litigation, will contest and consumer fraud litigation.  He was appointed to the bench in 1998, where he presided over cases in the civil, criminal and family divisions.  Judge Shore was also heavily involved in administrative and training responsibilities as the Presiding Associate Circuit Judge for over a decade.  Judge Shore retired from the bench in November, 2018 and is excited to now work with law students at NIU, especially in the important subject of professional responsibility.
