Student Learning Outcomes and Proposed Methods for Collecting Data (from Assessment Plan)

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Candidates will apply learning theories, concepts, and special education high leverage practices (HLPs) to effectively design and implement academic interventions for students with disabilities.
  2. Candidates will apply behavioral principles to plan effective behavioral interventions for students with disabilities.
  3. Candidates will apply assessment principles to design, select, and interpret data from informal and formal assessments.
  4. Candidates will demonstrate accurate use of high and low assistive technologies to support learning for students with disabilities.
  5. Candidates will apply knowledge of special education foundations, history, research, concepts, and principles to identify effective practices in teaching individuals with disabilities.
  6. Candidates will recognize and demonstrate satisfactory professional teacher dispositions throughout their clinicals and in their NIU classrooms.
