Alumni Outcomes - First Destination Survey (AY 2019 - AY 2021)

Primary Employment Status

Alumni were asked to indicate their current primary status regarding employment, education and service. Graduating cohorts are reported by academic year (fall, spring, summer), e.g. AY 2020-21 includes alumni who graduated in fall 2020, spring 2021 and summer 2021).

Primary Employment Category

Alumni who reported employment as their primary status were asked to select the category that best described their current employment (entrepreneur, free-lance, faculty tenure track/non-tenure track, internship/fellowship, contract work, traditional employment, or other). Graduating cohorts are reported by academic year (fall, spring, summer), e.g. AY 2020-21 includes alumni who graduated in fall 2020, spring 2021 and summer 2021).

Work Modality

Alumni who reported employment as their primary status were asked whether they were working solely on-site, solely remotely or in a hybrid situation. Graduating cohorts are reported by academic year (fall, spring, summer), e.g. AY 2020-21 includes alumni who graduated in fall 2020, spring 2021, and summer 2021).

Relatedness of Employment to Degree

Alumni who reported employment as their primary status were asked to indicate the extent to which their current employment was related to their most recent NIU degree program. Graduating cohorts are reported by academic year (fall, spring, summer), e.g. AY 2020-21 includes alumni who graduated in fall 2020, spring 2021, and summer 2021).

Preparation for Additional Education

Alumni who reported being enrolled in additional education as their primary status were asked to indicate the extent to which their NIU degree program prepared them to successfully pursue additional education. Credit Hours and Student Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)

Credit Hours and Student FTE

Credit hours attempted by derived course level (100-900) and student full-time equivalent (FTE), by student career (undergraduate, graduate, law) by academic/fiscal years. For fiscal years, semesters include summer, fall, spring; for academic years, semesters include fall and spring. Student FTE calculations use 15.0 credit hours for undergraduate students and 12.0 credit hours for graduate/law students. Users can evaluate credit hours and student FTE across four sets of filters: time, college/dept, subject, and student. Enrollment Diversity by Pell Eligible, First Generation and Gender/Ethnicity - Charts and Trends

These views report the diversity of student enrollment as of the fall semester (census) by federal pell grant eligibility, first generation status, gender and ethnicity. Pell eligible reflects the student's eligibility at anytime during their undergraduate career. Only undergraduate students are eligible for federal pell grants (graduate/law students will report 'not applicable'). First generation data is only collected for undergraduate students (graduate/law students will report 'not applicable').
