Student Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the program will be prepared for successful professional careers in music by demonstrating:

  1. Professional-level performance and technical skills necessary for artistic self-expression in both solo and ensemble public performances.
  2. Ability to access, synthesize and apply a well-informed historical and/or cultural perspective that demonstrates a degree of specialization and depth while sharing with audience and interested parties.
  3. A fluent knowledge of repertory and styles necessary for artistic self-expression in both solo and ensemble public performances.
  4. Professional collaborative skills and attitudes in ensemble settings in rehearsal and performance.
  5. Professional skills and attitudes (initiative, self-promotion, managing resources, etc.) to successfully manage his/her independent career.

  • Preparation for and successful solo performances (1,2,5)
