COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Response

Counseling and Consultation Services (CCS) remains committed to supporting the mental health needs of NIU students. For the fall semester, we will continue to provide telecounseling support through video or phone appointments. CCS is open for mental health emergencies and students who need private accommodations for telecounseling appointments.

Please call 815-753-1206 to get support for yourself or someone else and CCS staff will help you determine what needs to happen next. We ask that you call first so we can maintain all COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.

CCS will continue to offer the following telecounseling services:

  • Initial consultation appointments (Monday-Friday, 12 - 4 p.m.).
  • Individual and group therapy.
  • Mindfulness drop-in group.
  • Consultation services for faculty, staff and others who are concerned about a student.
  • Referral services for other mental health and campus resources.

After Hours Support

If you need immediate support after office hours, please call 815-753-1206 and you will be forwarded to speak with an on-call therapist.
