Nonprofit and NGO Studies Honors

NNGO majors can graduate with honors in two ways. You can be in either or both of these programs.

Nu Lambda Mu

One option is to apply for membership in Nu Lambda Mu, an international honor society established by the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council (NACC).

Eligibility requirements:

  • Minimum 3.5 GPA (cumulative for your undergraduate degree)
  • Pay a one-time application fee in your graduating semester.

Honor society members receive honor cords for graduation, a certificate, recognition on the NACC website and newsletter and other benefits.  Before you apply, contact the NNGO student advisor to review your qualifications and assist you with the application.

University Honors Program

Another option is to apply for admission to the University Honors Program. You can earn Full University Honors (12 points) or Associate University Honors (6 points). All University Honors students must maintain a 30 minimum overall GPA in order to remain active and take advantage of the program benefits. You must also complete NNGO 490, the capstone course. This is the final experience for NNGO majors and meets the requirements for the University Honors Senior Capstone as long as there is coordination between the two units.
