40TUDE Nonprofit

The 40TUDE Nonprofit student consulting team will provide nonprofits impacted by COVID19 with pro-bono consulting. As a result of an Illinois Board of Higher Education grant for student employment and NIU Foundation funds, NIU students, staff and faculty will be resourced to provide project-specific support to meet the needs of nonprofits during and in response to the challenges of COVID19. The Student Consulting Group for Nonprofits will be advised by the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership. 40TUDE is a project in partnership with NIU Outreach.
Benefits
The Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies is leading the student team to provide project support to nonprofits in four key areas:
- Data collection and analysis
- Fundraising
- Communications and advocacy
- Volunteer services
How We Can Help
Many nonprofits during this pandemic have experienced increasing demand for service and declining revenues to meet those needs. Many of them are applying for special funding opportunities which often require evaluations and impact data. Nonprofits had to cancel in-person events and are now reimagining all fundraising efforts. Communications and advocacy are always important to nonprofits but especially now in a competitive funding environment and a crowded communications landscape. In addition, nonprofits are now facing re-opening under public health directives that will make it hard for staff and volunteers to return, while managing the health and safety of the individuals they serve.
